What is Syphilis Infection?
Syphilis is one of those diseases that feels like a shadowy figure from the past, but it’s still very much a modern concern. Caused by a sneaky little bacterium called Treponema pallidum, it’s spread primarily through sexual contact, though there are rare cases of mother-to-child transmission during pregnancy, which is called congenital syphilis. Here’s the kicker: syphilis doesn’t always show obvious signs, which makes it a master of disguise.
Initially, it might start with a painless sore, often in places people aren’t looking too closely. You might shrug it off, thinking it’s a small cut or irritation, but that’s the bacterium quietly setting up shop in your body.
If untreated, syphilis can escalate into a series of stages: secondary syphilis can bring on skin rashes, swollen lymph nodes, and fever. The latent stage? It’s like the disease presses pause—no symptoms, but it’s still lurking. If you let it fester, you’re looking at serious complications, such as neurological damage or cardiovascular issues, in the tertiary stage.
Here’s something wild: syphilis was nicknamed “the great imitator” because it mimics so many other conditions. This can make diagnosis tricky unless you’re actively looking for it through specific blood tests. The good news? Syphilis is curable, especially when caught early. Penicillin, that old medical hero, is still the go-to treatment.
Prevention is no rocket science: practicing safe sex, like using condoms, and having regular STI screenings can significantly reduce your risk. For pregnant women, routine syphilis testing is crucial because untreated syphilis can lead to stillbirth or severe health issues for the baby.
Can we we treat syphilis with herbs alone? Definitely. Here’s how.
Herbal Treatment Options for Syphilis Infection
The following options will treat a syphilis infection. You can choose any of the options that you want, but you may not combine two options at once. Please understand that you still need to run clinical tests periodically during the treatment to determine the infection load, and to gauge your progress.
Vitex Doniana Combo
Vitex doniana, or commonly known as Black Plum, is a deciduous flowering tree growing up to 20m in height in tropical Africa. Voacanga Africana otherwise known as small-fruit wild frangipani is also another tree we need the bark for this combo. Here’s the complete list of ingredients.
- 250g of Vitex doniana bark
- 150g of Voacanga africana bark,
- 250g of Sarsaparilla stems.
- 1 teaspoon of red Natron
- 12 liters of water.
Take the ingredients and put in a tightly closed pot, boil for about forty minutes (the ingredients must be crushed in a mortar). Filter and drink warm, 1 glass morning and evening. The treatment lasts 2 to 3 months for chronic cases. It is important to run tests at the beginning and end to track the effectiveness of the treatment.
Negro Pepper & Papaya leaves
Gather about two fresh pawpaw leaves and add to 10 crushed Negro Pepper (Uda in Nigeria). Boil with 2 liters of water for 15-20 mins. Drink a teacup twice daily before meals.
This preparation is potent against sexually transmitted infections like Staphylococcus aureus, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, etc. Some of these infections may take longer to flush out, but it works surely. Run some tests at intervals to determine the infection load.
Napier leaves
This wild grass is effective against infections in the body, especially STIs like staph, gonorrhea, coliform, etc. Prepare a decoction with the fresh leaves and drink morning and night. Continue the treatment for 2 – 4 weeks as the case may be.
This grass is great for treating a host of ailments such as hypertension, candidiasis, cough, malaria, diabetes, arthritis, cancer, sexually transmitted infections, wounds, and high cholesterol.
Bitter Kola, Ginger, Garlic & Lime Juice
This herbal treatment for infection is effective against a wide range of infections in the body. Get about 5 pieces of bitter kola, 4 ginger bulbs, and about 8 garlic cloves. Next, extract enough lime juice to fill a 150cl plastic bottle. Blend the other herbs together, using the lime juice to facilitate the blending.
If you don’t have a blender, you can pound in a clean mortar. Filter using a clean cloth sieve. Store in the plastic bottle and leave to stand for 24 hours. The medication is ready. You may refrigerate but don’t freeze it. This is very important to avoid denaturing it.
Dosage
Drink half a glass twice daily. Run tests at intervals to determine the level of infection pathogens remaining in your system. Note: Not for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, and not for ulcer patient. Ulcer patients should treat the ulcer first before they use this remedy.
Plantain, Ginger and Honey
Note: This treatment is not for pregnant women. Get the young plantain root area, the section market by the arrow, not the actual roots. Ensure it is plantain, not banana. Cut off the roots, and the upper section. Take only the section inside the box (see image above). This is the base of the stem.
Get like 8 or 10 of these. Wash thoroughly, cut into pieces and blend them with a blender or pound with mortar. Please don’t add water. If the solution is not enough, get more to fill a 150cl bottle.
After blending or pounding thoroughly, squeeze out the juice into the water bottle. Next, take 4 bulbs of ginger and blend. You can add the already extracted plantain juice to make the blending easier.
After blending, sieve out the liquid and throw away the fiber. Add the filtered ginger juice to the plantain juice in the plastic container. Next, add a minimum of 200ml of pure honey to the plastic container and shake thoroughly.
Dosage
Take 2 shots morning and night until you finish the bottle of plantain juice (a shot is about 35ml). If you continue to see the symptoms of the infection such as rashes and skin irritation, repeat the treatment one more time. I assure you that it will be flushed out totally.
For Staphylococcus Aureus, take this preparation for two months continuously to flush out this stubborn infection. You can go for clinical tests after this period to confirm. As usual, take a shot three times a day or 2 shots morning and night before you sleep.
For Gonorrhea/Syphilis infections, same as for staphylococcus above, except that you need to treat syphilis using this preparation for as long as 4 months. STDs like Syphilis take time to heal, so you have to be patient. Don’t rush it. As usual, take a shot three times a day or 2 shots morning and night before you sleep.
